 Limitation Of Stamp Paper

I'm Shamik Bagchi practicing in Calcutta High Court.Today I want to share some amazing and interesting topic with  all of you regarding Non Judicial Stamp paper.
Many times people asked me about the limitation of a stamp paper, when they come to me for an agreement frequently they ask for the validity of a stamp paper worth Rs.10,20 or 50, but I have no proper knowledge about the validity of the issued stamp paper.
Today  from a Judgement by Hon'ble Supreme Court  in Thiruvengada Pilai Vs Navaneetammal & Ors dated 19/02/2008 I came to know  that a stamp paper has no validity period after purchasing it.
According to The Indian Stamp Act  there is only a limited period of 6 months time frame to get the refund of the unused stamp papers, but once it is purchased or issued on behalf of any person or any institution or any company it has no limitation period at all.
So if you are going to purchase a stamp paper go freely and keeping in mind that it will be life long validity after purchase.
So, hope that you people always try to keep in touch with my all updates and you can share your opinions upon any legal issues by using blog comments.
